Merle D. McJunkin, M. Div.
Assistant Pastor
The Reverend Merle D. McJunkin is the Assistant Pastor/Minister of Christian Education of the Grace Baptist Church of Germantown. In this position he serves as staff to over 30 educational and mission ministries. Rev. McJunkin is a favored teacher, workshop leader and speaker. He is the main instructor for our teacher training courses and our child protection policy training. He led the establishment of our System of Growth and Discipleship and the Grace Institute of Christian Education.

He served on the planning team and as an instructor at the American Baptist Churches National Black Church Education Conference and the American Baptist National Youth Gathering. Rev. McJunkin created a downloadable workshop on creating a Child Protection Policy. This workshop is available through the American Baptist Churches website.
Rev. McJunkin is a graduate of Ohio University. He completed his graduate work at Colgate Rochester Bexley Hall Crozer Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree. Since accepting his call to ministry 22 years ago Rev. McJunkin has served as a physical science and chemistry teacher; a teaching assistant for Koine Greek; and a youth minister. Before accepting the call to serve in Philadelphia, Rev McJunkin served as pastor of the East Glenville United Methodist Church. Rev. McJunkin led the church’s redevelopment launching new children’s, youth, education, and outreach ministries while renovating the building and eliminating outstanding indebtedness. Prior to his work with East Glenville, Rev. McJunkin was the Pastor for Program and Christian Education at the Asbury First United Methodist Church in Rochester, New York.
His greatest joy is being the father of Shayla Marie. His greatest honor is being the loving husband of the former Karla R. Jackson. |
